fall break…

I only got one day off for fall break but it was fun because so did the girls! We did some arts & crafts projects one of which was a “jug-o-lantern” using a milk jug. It turned out great! He’s right next to Mr. Scarecrow.

Website design project…

This is the worst app ever btw! I’ll be so glad when I get my 15 blogs in! The website design project was fine. It gave me a chance to update my old page that I just haven’t had the time for in years. I would definitely be interested in a GC class to further my coding skills in CSS and JavaScript!

oats anyone?

Who’s allergic to oats? Me! Just found out I’m now allergic to oats, and I had no clue. I’ve been reading up on the types of foods I need to avoid and so far all I know is I need to stay away from oats (obviously), wheat, barley, and rye. It has not been easy as I’m accustomed to buying foods with whole wheat/grains, and my favorite cereal is “Cascadian Farm Organic Oats & Honey Granola”! Bummer:( I’m probably going to have to start buying gluten-free stuff, but it’s not going to be easy, especially when you don’t live in an area with grocery stores that carry a large selection of specialty items. I guess this means a trip to Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s in Greenville on the weekend!

school’s back in session…

This has been a very busy and emotional week. My youngest started Kindergarten which means that she is no longer a baby:( I must say that we are so glad she is adjusting really well and totally loves school! Hope everyone has a great school year!

happy first friday!

Excited about tailgating and some Tigers football? Me too! Hope it’s sunny and cool tomorrow. I’m still not sure whether I want to stay on campus for the parade — I love the parade but not a big fan of heat & crowds :) We’ll see…

GO TIGERS!!!

kids and booboos…

What a crazy weekend! Imagine being a mom. Now imagine hearing your child say “I’m bleeding!”. That’s how we started the weekend on Saturday morning, although it got much better after that. Kids playing on the stairs is never a good idea, right? But do they listen? hmmmm…. sometimes. My oldest fell down and headed straight for the wall. Had a big cut over her eye but luckily closer to her eyebrow than her eye. Five blue-colored stitches later, she had forgotten about it all and was back playing with her sister and running around the house again:) Kids:)

first day of class…

Not as painful as I thought it’d be, although walking through the campus made me feel pretty old:( I’m really excited about this semester because probably for the first time since I started taking GC classes back in 2008, I’m actually going to be working with what interests me the most – web design and photography! What makes it even better is Mrs. Carroll. She definitely understands me:) and that’s pretty cool! It’s not an easy road but being able to do what I love and working with people who understand me are definite pluses…
